Requesting a Paternity test requires the participation of an alleged father, child, and mother; however, the mother's participation is recommended but can be optional.
Legal Paternity test requires a scheduled appointment for sample collection to verify identification. A photograph will be taken of the tested parties to maintain a strict chain-of-custody (legal documentation). Samples are collected by a medically trained technician with a painless buccal (cheek) swab and shipped securely to the AABB accredited laboratory for processing. Results are reported electronically within 2-3 working days. The original court admissible report is sent via US Mail.
A Sibling DNA test determines if two or more people have common parents. Full siblings share both parents while half-siblings share one parent.
DNA samples from both alleged siblings are necessary. The testing of the child's mother also increases the accuracy of the test. Unlike paternity testing which provides very conclusive results, the results of Siblingship testing are not always conclusive and are dependent on the genetics of the people being tested.
